Brief Guide:
Tall Annual Wildflower
Flowering Times:
June - September
Additional Information:
Corn Cockle was traditionally found in arable fields where it established
from the disturbed soils of spring seedbed preparations for cereal crops. Far
less common today due to modern farming methods and improved seed crop cleaning.
The most reliable establishment is obtained from spring to early summer
sowings into a warm soil. Like most annual wildflowers sunlight is important
for germination so Corn Cockle seeds should be surface or very shallow sown.
