Additional Information:
Permanent agricultural grassland must be dominated by persistent and durable grass species. It is these characteristics which create a good quality, dense and productive sward to minimise the risk of weed grasses (with little or no feed value) re-establishing in the pasture. The grasses in this long term mixture are highly tolerant of defoliation, cold weather and yield well on most soil types throughout the growing season. Timothy is included for both its winter hardiness and high palatability whilst the clover increases the overall protein content of the sward. The listed varieties in this mixture together produce reliable forage for permanant grazing by milk and meat stock or for cutting as a conservation crop.
