Additional Information:
This mixture offers more diversity to the diet of
grazing stock either as a permanent pasture or within a grazing rotation. By establishing deep
rooting grasses and herbs a pasture can provide a much
wider range of mineral and nutrient rich forage than
ryegrass alone, Shallow rooted ryegrass pastures can often falter during a large
part of the grazing season, especially during prolonged periods of dry weather.
This long term diverse grazing pasture produces very reliable forage during mid season grazing
especially on light or sandy soils. Critical trace elements can be brought to the surface in the stems and leaves of the
deeper rooting grass, clover and herbs which are readily consumed by foraging
stock. Therefore, diverse grazing can promote the well being of all grazing animals from
the quality, palatability and reliability of the herbage it provides.
