Brief Guide:
To provide
a short, dense and consistent playing surface ..
Mixture: STB-015
35% certified Fine Leaf Fescue
festuca rubra litoralis
35% certified Chewings Fescue
festuca commutata
30% certified
Bentgrass
agrostis capillaris
The slender and chewings
fescues in this mixture are mainly to provide a temporary green cover whilst the very fine leaf bentgrass
becomes established. In time the bentgrass will become dominant in the turf and
slowly knit
together to produce
a very fine, dense and presentable bowling or croquet lawn. Persistent close
mowing will encourage the very fine leaf bentgrass which results in minimum resistance and disturbance to a ball as it travels across the playing surface.
To maintain the highest quality green the area must be mown at least every other day
and kept at a constant height of between 5mm - 10mm. Cut in various directions
to maintain maximum shoot density and consistency of the playing surface.
