Lawn seed mixtures without ryegrass can still produce a good quality, close knit turf. Our Low Maintenance Lawn Seed blend makes the best use of slow growing grass species so even when the resulting turf has fully matured, leaf production is greatly reduced. It is worth noting initial establishment of a low maintenance lawn can take a little longer than a ryegrass based mixture but demands a far less frequent mowing regime especially during the peak of the growing season.
A very light fertilser application in early spring or late autumn will help keep the grass in good health and colour. To keep the grass looking at its best maintain a leaf length of 20 - 50mm. Avoid cutting very short during mid summer or during long spells of dry weather.
