Landscaping sometimes has a requirement for a basic, economical turf for non prestigious
areas. This grass seed mixture is designed to be used over larger sites where good
establishment is paramount but not necessarily at lawn quality. The ryegrass in
this mixture is an old fashioned, narrow leaved variety which tillers (spreads out)
historically used in horse grazing pastures and in conjunction with the strong fescue
will spread into unoccupied space to form a dense and durable turf. This is particularly
useful when seeding at lower sowing rates for economy purposes. Once established
the grass should be regularly cut between 1- 2 inches to achieve the smartest appearance
or it can be left longer and occasionally topped for a more agricultural look. Sow
at the higher rate for faster establishment or at the lower rate if economy is the
leading factor
