Summary: A low cost economy grass seed mixture designed for large-scale landscaping and non-premium areas where fast establishment and basic ground cover are the priority. Combining ryegrass and fescue species, this blend produces a dense, durable turf suitable for construction sites, boundary areas and general landscaping, with flexible sowing rates depending on coverage requirements and budget.
QUICK TIP: Should a faster establishment time be required please refer to our Quick Green Up (BL4) product.
Landscaping will sometimes require a low cost or cheap grass seed mixture for non prestigious areas.
This economy grass seed blend is designed to be used over larger sites where the establishment of a basic grass cover is required but not necessarily at manicured lawn quality.
The combination of ryegrass and strong fescue seed will establish dense and durable seedlings which will quickly fill out (tiller) once mowing or topping begins.
An ideal ryegrass based seeds mixture for the outlying areas of a large garden, against field boundaries, on construction and industrial sites or to produce a low cost turf in and around domestic buildings or over high traffic amenity areas.
If a higher quality, more presentable turf is required, please refer to our General Purpose Landscape (BL2) mixture
Sow Economy Grass Seed at 35 grams per sq/m or the higher rate of 50 grams per sq/m if full coverage is required more quickly and at the low rate of 20 grams per sq/m for over seeding into an existing turf or if budget is the leading factor.
Once established, the resulting grass should be regularly cut between 25- 50mm to achieve a tidy appearance or it can be left longer and occasionally topped or grazed like pasture land.
Please note: This is a bulk grass seed product with 1 x 20.00 kg being the minimum order.
