An economy meadowgrass seed mixture suitable as non competitive companion grasses to any additional wildflower seeds mixture or simply as a single stand of perennial and ornate meadow grasses in their own right. Produced to emulate the appearance of most traditional hay meadows, this blend contains non aggressive grass species and specifically no ryegrass is included.
Basic Economy Meadowgrass Seed is a simplified version of our Diverse Meadow Grass Seeds mixture for both economy and ease of establishment but should still produce a good display of pretty seed heads through the summer, similar to well managed traditional hay and/or water meadows.
Each British native species included is 20% or less of the blend (by weight) making this product suitable for most new environmental schemes and/or meadow grass reinstatement.
Sow at the higher rate for small areas to produce a denser population of grass.
Sow at the med to low rate if using as non competitive (companion) grasses for wildflower seeds or plugs or economy is the leading factor. Low seed rates sown purely as a grass meadow may take significantly longer to establish good ground cover
