Summary: A Wild Meadow Grass Seed mixture harvested from unimproved English hay meadows designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), designed to closely replicate native meadow diversity for ecological restoration and wildflower-compatible grass establishment.
Wild Meadow Grass Seed is summer harvested from managed areas of unimproved English hay meadows, each a registered Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
The harvesting process is carried out several times on each site over the summer months to ensure the seeds from grasses which mature at different times of the season are collected.
The gathered seeds are then cleaned and thoroughly mixed together, ensuring the diversity of the harvested meadow grass seeds are maintained.
The resulting product is the closest we can currently source for the reproduction of a native grass meadow in the UK.
Sow Wild Meadow Grass Seed at the higher rate for small areas to produce a denser population of grass.
Sow at the medium to low rate if using as non competitive companion grasses to any of our 100% Wild Flower Seed mixtures.
PLEASE NOTE: This product falls outside of the industry Purity and Germination Certification Standards, therefore no green mixture label with a mixture breakdown will be attached to the product.
