Diverse Wildflower Meadow Seeds mixture is a step up from our ‘Basic’ blend and with nearly 30 carefully chosen species of the very best native wildflowers really excels in producing a rich, sustainable habitat and a balanced display of natural colour over an extended flowering season.
Wildflowers are the very life blood of the countryside with many of our most endangered butterflies and insects relying on this type of habitat as a natural food source for survival. Not only do diverse and colourful wildflowers play a vital role within our countries delicate ecosystem, the natural attraction to native and migrating butterflies can be very rewarding and also very pleasing to the eye.
All broadleaf and grass weeds should be controlled by hoeing or with a general herbicide before sowing takes place. Low soil fertility should be maintained at all times.
For the best results, evenly broadcast the entire seeds mixture over a fine, clean seedbed which already has a little loose soil on the surface. Lightly rake them into the loose soil before rolling, treading or tamping the surface firm again to place the wildflower meadow seeds into intimate contact with the seedbed.
Perennial wildflower meadow seeds often take over 12 months to fully establish so we include a little native annual wildflower seed in this mixture for additional first year colour.
Never apply fertiliser or any type of selective, broad leaf weed control to an area sown with diverse wildflower meadow seeds.
