This Woodland Glade Wildflower Seeds mix suits a Hedgerow, an open area within a copse (Glade) or the semi shade of a sparsely populated woodland or orchard. Tree management may be required to provide appropriate sunlight to warm the seedbed and to further prevent the leaf canopy closing over the area after establishment. Whilst the woodland wildflower species in this mix are partially shade tolerant they do benefit greatly from opening up the area and will flourish with less competition for sunlight.
It is extremely important to eradicate all nettles, brambles, ground ivy, any other broadleaf and grass weeds before sowing this mixture.
All existing weeds in the seedbed should be controlled by hoeing or with a general herbicide before sowing takes place and low soil fertility should be maintained at all times.
For the best results, broadcast these Woodland Wildflower Meadow seeds on to a fine, clean seedbed which already has a little loose soil on the surface. Lightly rake them into the loose soil before rolling the surface firm again.
Top a glade in October and remove all autumn leaf litter when ground conditions allow.
Never apply fertiliser to an area sown with Woodland Glade Wildflower Seeds.
