Slow Growing Grass Seed (BL3)

A slow growing grass seed mixture of fescue species without ryegrass. BL3 can produce good ground cover without the more vigorous growth associated with rye. Suitable for large areas in partial shade. For steep banks or other sites difficult to maintain. These sites may be areas of landscape, road construction or even railway embankments. Fescues are also compatible with more delicate coastal site reinstatement or locations where ryegrass is to be purposely avoided.

Although Slow Growing Grass may take a little longer to fully establish (compared to ryegrass based mixtures), the resulting compact and fine leaved turf will require less frequent management due to slower regrowth/recovery from cutting.

Sow Slow Growing Grass seed without ryegrass at 35 grams per sq/m. Sow at the higher rate of 50 grams per sq/m if full coverage is required more quickly. Apply at the low rate of 20 grams per sq/m for over seeding into an existing turf or if economy is the leading factor.

The high percentage of both Hard/Sheeps and Chewings Fescue help make this all fescue, true low maintenance grass seed mixture very durable. It is suitable for most soil types including those of an acidic nature.
